Two blue birds on a nest? you probably know I share a love of blue bird designs with many of you, so I had to bring this unusual design ironstone soupière or tureen to you.
Filled with symbolism, the design has the pair of birds nesting on the traditional Empire style torch arrows motif along with garlands , a romantic design with a nod to tradition which would have made a perfect wedding gift.
The bowl is in good condition on the outside, there 1s one slip glaze mark from manufacture and some rubs to the handles, there is staining on the inside. This bowl is perfect for a floral arrangement with a French flower frog vase popped inside or for planting bulbs to flower inside in winter.
The bowl has an unusual St Amand mark with the names A Lebacqz & M Bouchart who worked at St Amand producing some beautiful designs between 1900 and 1914
It measures 11" across the handles and is 6" tall
