Old vintage French copper chocolate pot with a fabulous warm patina of age.

It is artisan made and marked Villedieu, historically the premier town for copper manufacturing. It bears the maker's initials and stamp, this pot is very good quality copper, lined with tin so perfectly useable.

It has a wooden handle which has been stained, as was traditionally the way, some of this is wearing off back to the wood. This unscrews as required and is firm. The lid is hinged and strong.

There are the authentic signs of use and wear, the darkening and mottled finish to the copper has left an intriguing patterning , which I haven't removed, leaving the choice to you, it would polish to a deep rich shine. There is a small dent on the top of the lid and some marks inside from use.

It would look lovely on a stove top or on display.

The pot measures approximately 14cm or 5.5" tall 16cm or 6.25" diameter at the base and the handle is 12cm or 5" long.
