An exceptional find, a rare design Julien Damoy confiture pot made unique by its wonderful patination. It is in very good antique conditon and retains its glossy glaze, characteristic of the older pots.

This version was designed to celebrate the award of the gold medal "Médaille d'or" in 1891 and not many were produced.

There are lists of all the other gold medals awarded and the addresses in Paris where Damoy had his grocery stores. in the central gold medallion, surrounded by a blue shield is written 'Marque Deposé' showing the Damoy name is copywrited.

The pot has the Luneville stamp on the base and is patinted through out, the patination is darker at the base and has one small stable crack on the base, also pictured.

It measures 5.5" tall
