Lovely sugar tongs, a very Quintessentially British tea time essential, but found in France and used here too.
The larger is more ornate with its repoussé design down to the grips, the smaller has a lovely flower design and is hallmarked as silver plate with a smooth inner surface.
Both flex and grip well.
There is a third, vintage and heavily used pair, the silvering has worn away, leaving the brass coloured metal beneath. They work perfectly and have beautiful shell detailing at the tips. I couldn't pass them by, so offer them to you, if this is your style. They made me think of Alice in Wonderland! I have not cleaned at all, leaving the patina intact. They would polish if required.
The larger is 13.5cm, just over 5.5" and the smaller is 10.5cm, just over 4" long. The patinated tongs measure 13cm, just over 5" long.
