Pair of traditional vintage French café au lait bowls made of porcelain by FD Chauvigny.

They have a beautiful decorative gold edging and transferware pictures of two different forms of the traditional Brittany costume, one locally from Quimper (where the beautiful pottery comes from) and the other pictures a Bigoudènne which is the traditional tall hat that Brittany women used to wear.

The bowls are elegantly fluted and in great condition. They measure 12cm 5" diameter and stand 6cm 2.5" tall. The pair are sold together.

All Quintessentially French items are vintage or antique, they are old and characterful and show wear consistent with their age and from being used. To most people, this is the quintessence of their charm.
