An absolute treasure in remarkable condition. This extraordinary edition of the Book of Common Prayer is inscribed and dated 1854 in a beautiful hand.
 
The book is leather bound, with some small marks on the leather from use over so many years, including wear to the spine from reading, however the spine remains firmly attached.
 
The book is edged in ornately worked brass at the corners and arround the edge of the cover. There is a decorative clasp to hold it together for carrying to and from church and the pages are edged in gold, see the picture as they glow in the sunlight. 
 
This has been treated with reverence, a beautiful, beloved book measuring 5" by 3.25" and just under 2" thick.
