A beautifully patinated, buttered ironstone, antique French vegetable tureen or legumiere made by Gien, stamped on the base.
 
It is the pattern called Autumn flowers and features an attractive daisy style design in blue. There are also a pair of side plates also available in the same design.
 
As is often the case, the bowl is much more stained and crazed than the lid as it has held hot food. The lid has two small hairlines as pictured.
 
The tureen displays and stacks beatifully adn measures 6" tall and 10" wide across the handles. Tureens with lids are more expensive to ship as they are double boxed and extremely well padded to make their journey in one piece.
