A gorgeously tactile and petit French hand made confit pot, glazed on the inside to protect the contents, usually preserved in oil. It is  unglazed on the outside to keep the contents cool in the warm Provençal climate.
 
I love how the hand applied glaze has created patterns as it spilled over when being swished around to seal the inside and the lovely depth of the pooled glaze at the bottom of the pot.

The confit pot measures just over 4" tall.  There is one small old chip at the rim from use in the home.
