A very rare find in amber glass, straight from a Normandy barn. this old Dame Jeanne, or demijohn was used for storing farm calvados, the local speciality, apple brandy. It is particularly rare to find these bottles in the case, with the original wood and straw padding. The metal rim around the bottle neck is rusty and one of the wooden carry handles on the side is missing, a thought the wire handle is still there. 
 
This is a large bottle and I have left it as found and unopened or 'dans son jus' this means that it has not been cleaned, and is as it was removed removed from the barn, with a little brush off.  Regrettably it cannot be sent to Australia in the packaging due to import restrictions. 
 
It measures 18" tall by 15" diameter, this is a heavy thick glass bottle and shipping is charged at cost, due to its size and to ensure safe shipping for all items,  it will not be possible to combine shipping with other purchases.
