Old French wood brushes in the traditional style with copper collars and wooden handles. All have delightful signs of use, patinatipn to the copper and the wooden handles, but with cleaned bristles, so from the atelier of an artisan who looked after his tools. They display beautifully. 
 
Pair 1: Both round bristle brushes have writing on the handles, one has more patination to the collar with traces of verdigris. They measure 10" / 10.5" long 
 
Pair 2: are both also round bristle brushes but larger. The bigger has a lovely patina of use on the handle, remnants of the painty hands that have held it. They measure 11.5" / 12.5" 
 
Pair 3 have flat bristles and round handles. THey have a deep patina and one has to be my favourite as it has tape and wire over the collar to extend its useful life. These bear traces of paint too, as do the handles. They measure 13" / 14" long.
 
Pair 4 consists of a very large round brush and a large flat bristled brush, bith with round handles. The flat brush has 'Brosse soie' written on the handle, which means silky bristles. They are 12.5" / 15" long
