Purchased from an optician shop back in the second half of the 1800s  on Boulevard Strasburg in Originally purchased from a shop in Paris Boulevard de Strasburg, in the second half of the 1800s, I wonder if they have been used at the incredible Paris Opera Garnier?

These opera glasses have certainly been well used, but they still focus and magnify. They are all the more attractive for showing their history. The leather cover has come off one of the binocular eyepieces, leaving the patinated metal finish, there are some small dents around the lenses.

The case's leather is worn, I have not fed the leather, leaving it in as found condition to leave the choice to you. The blue silk lining is still bright and the writing under the lid is legible. There is some wear to the silk where the lens has rubbed for well over 100 years! The lid catch fastens and opens.

The leather case measures 4 1/4" by 2 3/4"
