Fabulous and unusual vintage French professional quality chocolate mould in thick tinned steel. Consists of both halves with the appearance of a cracked open chocolate egg. This would have been used to make a hollow shell, filled with delicious chocolates, maybe in the shape of chicks.
 
Both halves show wear from repeated use in a professional chocolaterie whch adds to its authentic charm.
 
It measures 4.5" by 4.5" approximately and each half is just under 2" deep. These French molds are made tinned steel, in the old way, and are thus older, heavier more solid than the more modern aluminium molds.
