Dating from the second half of the 1800s, this beautiful brown transferware tureen or soupière comes from the famous E. Bourgeois store in Rue Drouot in Paris.

It has the company's attractice stamp clearly on the bas,  this stamp was forst used in 1863.  The soupière is in very good antique condition, showing a little age related crazing and wear, notably round the handles, which has been shown in close up. The inside shows signs of use and the marks left from stirring with a silver plated spoon.

The tureen is just over 10" across the handles and 8" diameter at the opening and stands approximately 6.5" tall to the top of the handle.
