This cast iron 'Chauffette' or little warmer is the perfect partner to the copper kettle. It can be warmed on the stove and placed on a board (it has little feet to raise it) and used to place the kettle or a dish to help keep it warm at the table. 
 
It also is perfect for a pot stand cold on the surface. 
 
It has an Art Nouveau style which probably dates it to the beginning of the 20th century. 
 
The metal is in good strong condition and it measures 7" in diameter.
