From a Paris fleamarket, a locally painted oil on canvas of a delightful red brick house in the Bois de Boulogne on the Western edge of Paris.

It stands on the edge of the lake in a secluded position, a wonderful getaway from the city with a classic weeping willow in front and an island on the lake to the right, an idyllic location.

The canvas is professionally mounted, you can see the fasteners on the back, used by upmarket framers, it may well have been painted for or by the owner of the house.

The painting is in very good vintage condition and is believed to date from the mid 20th century.

The frame was probably added at a later date, however it suits the painting being a well made distressed gilded frame it sits well with the location and status of the house, as a quality frame. There are minor signs of wear and age and the painting has been firmly attached using removable framer's tape, I have left it as found.

It measures 18" by 13" framed and the canvas 14" by 9.5"
