A wonderful find, a 19th century ironstone compote in pink ironstone transferware with the most beautiful patination.

They are particularly interesting because they come from Paris, during the Haussmann era when Paris was rebuilt in its current elegant style and the new families moving in wanted suitably elegant tableware. The "Companie Franco Anglaise" catered for this and had one of the widest range of delightful diner services for the wealthy Parisians.

Both these compotes have the stamp of this store on rue Turbio , Paris on the base.

It measures 10" by 4.75" high
