A fabulous Sennelier Paris well used artist's box with its stunning palette. The mix of colours on the palette and signs of use in creating art are one of the most attractive I have found.
 
Sennelier Paris is the famous art supplies shop on Quai Voltaire on the banks of the Seine in Central Paris opposite the Louvre has been a favoured shop of artists since 1887. It has supplied among others Cezanne, Degas, Van Gogh and Henri Sennelier worked closely with Picasso developing new artists' media. 
 
The box includes a Sennelier painting board in the lid and has many traces of use in the metal storage trays. The handle is leather and it closes firmly with two clips.
 
The box itself has many traces of use on the outside from the artist's paint covered finders. The box is split on the top, as they often did, being taken from place to place to paint,  but remains firm and closes well. The Sennelier label is on the lid.
