Attractively slip glazed in the twin Provençal colours of yellow and green, this hand thrown footed terracotta bowl is perfect in the kitchen, piled with ripe figs, walnuts or whatever came home fresh from the market that morning. I would use it to serve salad or just leave it empty to enjoy.

Found at a brocante in the south of France It has had a long productive life in a French kitchen, the glaze has worn back underneath to reveal the local terracotta clay. It is a traditionally crafted piece dating from the beginning of the 20th century.

It has some chips and glaze rubs around the rim from use and the expected signs of wear, but no cracks. It stands 3" tall and 8.5" in diameter
