A splendid example of St Uze with its characteristic cobalt blue floral design. Found at an antique market close to its place of manufacture in the Drôme region in the south of France. 
 
The little milk or hot chocolate lidded creamer was traditionally warmed on the stove and then poured into Madame's cup delicately with the little side handle, creating a comforting morning ritual.
 
This is in lovely condition, unusually with the lid intact and has a particularly charming design. There is a little internal glaze crackling, the pot à lait remains watertight.
 
It stands 4.25" tall
