An original oil on board painting of a French village, from the style of the houses it appears to be set in the Eastern border region .
 
A rowing boat approaches the old stone bridge with the village rising behind on a beautifully sunny day. 
 
The painting is signed Champeraux and measures 17.75" by 12.5" It is in good vintage condition, dating from the mid 20th century.
 
There is a small step in the top of the board where it was originally cut.
