Brûlot coffee cups and matching saucers from a Parisian cafe of the 19th century.

Brûlot cups are now collectible as well as being the perfect cup for your French style coffee. Made of heavyweight porcelain, once perfect for lingering over a slow coffee on a Parisian terrace, they were traditionally pre-warmed and if they are, they do keep your coffee warm for longer, and add a feeling of nostalgia, recreating a dream of Paris of an era, long past.

The base is thick and has a deep dimple, traditionally the cup was turned upside down for a shot of eau de vie to be poured into the indent once the coffee had been drunk.

These are useable for coffee and sold either as a pair of individually, it is unusual to find a matching pair and with their saucers.

The cups have green and pink stripes with gilded highlights and hand painted detail on the handles.

They are 3" tall and the saucer is 4" in diameter. There are initially 6 available.
