The first thing that attracted me to this gorgeous sauce boat or saucière was the beautiful patination as well as the polychromatic transferware design dating back to the 19th century  and was found in Paris.

It has a deightful bird and bamboo design across the bowl, attached saucer and lid, as well as a lovely shade of fresh green applied by hand to the handles.

It is stamped that it came from the Depot in rue Drouot, Paris which sold dining and kitchenware, especially faïence to the wealthy Parisians of the Haussmann era.

It has 'tea' staining and crazing across the sauce boat, from much use with hot sauces. It measures 9" long, 5" high and 6" wide.
