In a vibrant pink with gilded highlights, this matchstriker is more unusual as it advertises coffee not alcohol.
 
These pieces were supplied to French cafés as promotional items, in this case a new style roast of Brazillian coffee (torrefaction is roasting the beans). They held matches, struck on the pink ridges, and were placed on the bar to advertise to customers and staff alike.
 
It is in great condition with only minor rubbing to the handsome gilded trim.
 
It stands 3.5" tall and there is a firing crack from manufacture on the base which is not structural
