A very smart high quality ironstone raised serving plate in the Francois I pattern made by top manufacturer Salins, a highly collectible maker and a rare find.
 
The King's heraldic image was a salamander, this and the F for Francois is integral in the pattern. 
 
The plate dates around 188 , respecting the monarch who ruled from 1515 to 1557 and was a renowned supporter of the arts, he bought the Mona Lisa and became Leonardo da Vinci's patron.
 
The plate is in good condition, with some signs of use and age and measures 9.5" in diameter and stands 2" high
