As a life long antique collector, lover of the individual, eclectic, and timeworn, I've always avoided 'trends' in interior design and decor, so an 'antique trend' surely is an oxymoron
Antiques signify permanence whereas trends are ephemeral - but I can't help loving this one!
However, I strongly believe antiques are more than a trend, once you have been bitten by the antique bug, there's no going back!
Antiques bring warmth, meaning and permanence to your home, showcasing your individuality.
The prominence of antiques in interior design signifies a major shift from the persuit of perfection to the embracing of perfectly imperfect interiors. A home filled with antiques where each piece tells a story, proudly showing the history of a life well lived in their patina.
The shift from neutral, modern minimalism to the soulful, lived in and imperfect takes 2026 interior design to the place that Quintessentially French has been living since its inception, as well as reflecting the style I create in my own homes, as I imagine many of you already do in yours! It appears we are now becoming mainstream.
I love that this trend indicates the appreciation of craftsmanship, and the desire for a unique home that reflects one's own life and personality. Exactly what Quintessentially French Brocante has been bringing you for years!.

Interior designers talk of antique statement pieces, but I think we know that it is also the smaller, one of a kind pieces, curated and layered, that gives your home that personal collected over time look, rooms that look as if they have evolved over a lifetime, have been lived in and are above all comfortable spaces.
Antiques put the soul into homes, and their slow craftsmanship and longevity is the antidote to the pace of modern life. An antiqued home radiates wealth, warmth, permanence and individuality.
An antiqued home reflects your personality and life style.
Antiques give your home history, texture and emotional depth. This is created by slow decorating, the delayed gratification of searching and waiting for just the right piece. The hunt is exciting, the decor evolves, often in a unexpected way as you uncover an unexpected gem.
The Paris fleamarkets and country brocantes are wonderful for sourcing treasures for your home. It is my business and my pleasure to collect only the most soulful treasures that I would happily have in my home to grace yours.
Les Puces, Paris
I don't outsource finding my treasures for the Quintessentially French online store. I choose everything personally, slowly, deliberately, with consideration. Only objects that speak to me, feel right when I hold them as well as being good quality come home with me. I am blessed to live here full time so I can curate slowly, intentionally.
You can trust my French antique finds will be perfect for your home - that is, perfectly imperfect!

Authentic patina like this just can't be recreated, it is the stories the piece has to tell, the life it has lived. These pieces are at the heart of Quintessentially French's philosophy.
