Dating from the first few of decades of the 1800s, this early transferware plate has the most beautiful patina in its teastaining and crazing, sitting well with the blue green country scene.
The application of the transfer design is indicative of and early piece, furthermore the stamp is an indent, not ink, coming before the development of inked stamps.
Underneath there appears to be an old mend underneath, not visible from the top, pictured in close up. The plate is 8" in diameter.
