A fabulous and sought after antique pitcher by Luneville in the design 'Lille'. It has an elegant fluted top, narrowing in the middle, widening to the base with a fluted body. It is the perfect shape to hold your own bouquet of flowers. 
 
It has a sepia transferware design with a bouquet of spring tulips and wild flowers, coloured pink and gold with green stems and an elegant green and pink design around the top. There is the attractive bespoke 'Lille' Luneville stamp on the base, designed for their premier collections.
 
It shows signs of its long life, dating from the turn of the century, and has been well used. It must be be noted that it holds water.  There is a  mature chip under the lip, staining inside, some minor hairlines around the handle and a longer glaze crack inside, which doesn't come through to the outside.
