From the famous 19th century faïencerie in St Denis in greater Paris which supplied the latest fashions of crockery to the Parisian families in the new Haussmann apartments.

 

It features a wading bird with bullrushes around the edge, and a vignetted image of sailing ships, with a damsel fly perching on the edge of the frame.

 

It is a shallow plate / bowl measuring 8.5" or 22cm and has the Paris stamp on the base. It is in good antique condition with minimal signs of use.
