I do love polychromatic terre de fer plates and this set is full of beautiful flowers and butterflies. 
 
The six plates consist of 5 cake plates from the gold medal winning house of Gien, dating to the late 1800s in the design 'Oeillets' or carnations, each with a butterfly enjoying the blooms.  It is a mis-matched set, I picked the sixth as it has the same carnations, colours and age, but they fill the plate and the butterfly has flown away!
 
The plates are in good antique condition, with minor signs of age, mainly light crazing.
