How to order

All US orders will go into an 'Open Box' this allows you place a single order or to hold shipping if you wish to add to your parcel as I find more treasures.

You can close your box when you are ready and I will pack securely and provide shipping quotations, which will be invoiced by PayPal.

I have professional accounts with a variety of shippers to find you the best deal.

This system gives you flexibility to curate your own collection at your pace. Of course Paris pick up is possible!

You only pay the actual cost of shipping your whole order.

FAQs

What level are tariffs?

Antiques should not be subject to tariffs. I complete all the newly required detailed customs information, so you should not be charged if you buy items over 100 years old.

However, although none of my customers have yet been charged, the rules are not always applied uniformly on arrival in the States.

Vintage goods under 100 years old are subject to tariffs at 15%, with the rate reduced to 5% for original artworks.

I am here to answer your questions to the best of my knowledge, but please be aware we have experienced some discrepancies Stateside.

Will I have anything to pay when my parcel arrives?

Some methods of shipping incur brokerage fees on arrival in the US, although they have not been at the level that had been initially feared, they have been between about 5$ and 30$ depending on the size and cost of the parcel. Please note this is not a set fee or percentage.

It is also possible to send DDP (all fees paid) we can discuss the best option for you

The Background to the tariffs

As part of the Big Beautiful Bill tariffs were introduced on all goods entering the US, however there was a "De Minimis" exemption for parcels under 800$, due to end July 2027.

An unexpected executive order brought this into force from 29th August 2025

To clarify, tariffs are payable on all parcels entering the States are the responsibility of the US buyer (i.e. importer).

Tariffs (15% for France / EU countries) are payable to the US government by the person purchasing the item.

Additionally, administration fees are paid to the company in USA who carries out the importation admin on your behalf, whether this is USPS or a private shipper like DHL.

I will keep you updated in my Quintessentially French email newsletter
