A delightful French ink blue transferware bird design raised serving plate, sold in Haussmann's Paris, at the 'Nouveau Depot'  on Boulevard Voltaire (stamped on the base) and dating from the last quarter of the 1800s.
 
It depicts a pair of birds perching on a cactus branch in bloom, an unusual design and wonderful as part of a plate wall.
 
The plate has signs of age and use; crazing and discolouration and measures 8.25" in diameter and 2" high.
