A striking original still life oil painting of a bowl of red apples exquisitely painted, with catchlights, depth and texture, her precise contours and details make her colours and subjects resonate. I love particularly the little detail of the cobalt blue inside of the bowl, glimpsed under the apples.
 
Dated 14th November 1953 it is from a Parisian based collection by the artist Angelina Lavernia.
 
Born in the Catalonian region of Spain in 1925. She moved to Paris after her marriage and both exhibited and studied here. She is renowned for her sensitive and harmonious  use of intense colour .
 
The painting has small and expected signs of its 72 years of display and measures 18" by 15"
