A charming small original still life oil painting of a bowl of red and green apples delightfully painted, Lavinia's characteristic use of colour and her precise contours give depth and texture. The details make her colours and subjects resonate. I love particularly the little detail of the small chip on the rim of the terracotta bowl.

Dated 2nd October 1945 it is from a Parisian based collection by the artist Angelina Lavernia.

Born in the Catalonian region of Spain in 1925. She moved to Paris after her marriage and both exhibited and studied here. She is renowned for her sensitive and harmonious  use of intense colour .

The painting has small and expected minor signs of its 80 years of display and measures 14" by 10.75"
