"Forest Path in Belfort". Step into the French countryside with this atmospheric oil painting by R Brosset, capturing a peaceful moment in Belfort circa 1913. Rich with charm, history and quiet rural beauty.

A rare and evocative glance into early 20th century France, just before the start of the first World War, this signed oil painting by R Brosset transports us to the woodlands near Belfort ,a region known for its lush forests and strong rural heritage.

It shows a father and child walking along a sun-dappled path , the full basket suggests a return from the market, meeting another villager.

The tall pines and shadowed trail lead the eye into the distance, evoking a timeless sence of tranquility. The traditional clothing  and scenery aligns with the given date and location in the Franche-Comté region.

There is one small hole and a few pin prick punchtures of the canvas and some paint loss at the edge of the canvas, consistent with age. The frame is more modern and in good overall condition with some minor marks. The plain gold frame is of good quality and appropriate to the style of the painting.

The canvas measures 10.5"by 7.5" and the frame 13.5"by 10". The painting is ready to hang.
