To the north of Paris, Villeneuve le Roi church as it stood in 1911 was immortalised by Monsieur L Darras.

The church is very typical of the style in this part of France, in the calm of the pre-Great War era, with the village pond in front, neatly kept and well maintained.

The painting shows its age as would be expected, it has two small holes and  wear of the canvas at the corner, it is a little loose on the stretchers, but it displays well.

The canvas measures 18" by 14"
