A beautifully gently faded floral antique set of 5 French kitchen canisters and their lids from premier make 'Etoile'. Chosen for their scarcity and faded charm.
 
The design is hand painted featuring blue and pink faded country flowers, with leaves in shades of green. the edges and ridges are highlighed with gold rings, all in all a very decorative set, brightly coloured when bought over 100 years ago and delightfully faded by time now.
 
There are chips to the enamel and some rustiness, as is normal with antique enamel. They hold water and remain solid. They are sold as decorative, and provide good storage for bits and bobs, however if using for food it is always advisable to use an inner bag as they are not airtight. I have shown the two most heavily surface rusted canisters.
