Decorated in soft blush-pink transferware with delicate birds and naturalistic foliage, on a warm ivory ground. This compotier is probably the most beautiful I have ever found. It embodies the romance of the Aesthetic Movement.

Imagine this compote on your table, filled with tempting Parisian macarons and delicious gâteaux.

A beautiful example of late Victorian transferware with the graceful bird motifs and wonderfully hand painted cutwork handles on a tall and elegant pedastal.

It was made by Brown-Westhead, Moore & Co., Staffordshire, in the beloved Canova pattern between 1870 and 1890. But interestingly, it is stamped with the French Déposé mark, indicating it was imported to Paris, probably for the Grand Depot.

The compote is in great antique condition with only two tiny nibbles on one side of the plate. It stands 7" tall and 12" wide
