The perfect French style kitchen accessory, mustard was and still is, central for French cuisine.
 
The mellow stoneware is enhanced by the advertising script in bleu marine, from the French favourite brand of mustard, Maille, which was established in 1747 (we always have a jar of Maille mustard at home for French vinegrette)
 
I particularly like the solid base and wide neck of this jar as, of course,  it makes them perfect as a vase.
